The first half of the route followed the section of the Rätikon Höhenweg from the Douglass hut to Gargellen, with whole-day excursions to Schesaplana (at 2965 m the highest in the group) and to Sulzfluh (2818 m). The second half was continuous and went through the Silvretta Alps from Gargellen to Bielerhöhe, including the interesting crossing of the Platten, Schweizer and Kromer glaciers between the Tübinger and Saarbrücker huts. Storms prevented the planned crossing of Getschner Scharte from the Wiesbadener hut to the Jamtal hut to finish down Jamtal to Galtür, and we retreated to finish back at the Madlener hut at Bielerhöhe
