OTT1 Stubai Alps, July 2006

Allan and Lesley Witton, John and Judith Willson, Paul Shufflebottom, Mark Hesketh, Julie Sheehy

The route of the first Old Trekkers’ Trek (OTT) was based on the standard ‘Stubai Rucksack Route’ as described in Allan Hartley’s guide book published by Cicerone, but we did it in reverse to take advantage of the Kreuz Joch cable car at the start. We also made some diversions for summit ascents, Rinnen Spitz (3006 m), Bassler Joch (2830 m), Schaufel Spitz (3333 m), Großer Trögler (2902 m) and Mairspitz (2775 m), and we made a whole-day excursion to the south ridge of Gamsspitzl (3030 m). We finished at Gschnitz rather than completing the loop via the Innsbrucker hut to Neustift
