Allan and Lesley Witton, John and Judith Willson, Tim Pattison, (Jo Hobson in Val d’Isère)

This year’s arrangements were a mirror image of those of 2017 from Pralognan, this time in the eastern Vanoise, starting with a 5-day hut-to-hut tour from Val d’Isère circumnavigating Pointe de la Sana. The route included ascents of Pointe des Fours (3040 m) and Pointe du Pisset (3033 m), but unfortunately our attempt on Pointe de la Sana was thwarted by a storm forecast on the day we planned to do it. The tour was followed by day excursions from our chalet in Val d’Isère.
